Elngelszell Gregorius

Chestnut brown color. Good clarity. Tan head settle into a thin cap. Little to no lacing.

Smell: Sweet on the nose, lots of honey. Brown bread, crust, cocoa. A touch leathery. Bread pudding, raisin and craisin. Whiff of solvent alcohol. Tropical esters of pineapple, asian pear, and tangerine. Lightly peppery and phenolic. Yeasty undertones. 

Taste: Sweet and honeyed up front, though it dries. Grape skin. Raisin and craisin. Brown bread, bread pudding. Brown cocoa. Alcohol comes on a bit strong, but checks itself just enough. Pineapple and tangerine ester. A touch of medicinal phenol comes out more as the beer warms. Earthy yeast is a constant in the background. Very dry finish of brown cocoa, brown bread, and alcohol.

Thick in body. Silky smooth texture. High attenuation and gentle, scrubbing carbonation provide lift and give it a light feeling on the palate. The mouthfeel goes a long way to enhance drinkablilty.
